Holidays
I know they are not over, but I have to say so far, things have gone well. Just got back from a visit to my parents in Charleston….actually Goose Creek. We bought them a computer for Christmas. My mom was using AOL dial up, and her computer was running Windows 98. My dad was not even allowed to use the computer at all because my mom said it was her computer and she paid for it with her money, so he couldn’t use it. The New machine has Windows XP, 2 good sized hard drives, a CD and DVD writer, a cable modem and we also set up a wireless network, and brand new printer because my mom refuses to bookmark pages, she prefers to print out the web page if it has something she thinks she might want to read again. Barrie and I took turns doing all the comcast account stuff like helping them select email and passwords on comcast , setting up their email programs and web browsers, installing Mcafee and installing a the new printer. I even set up logmein so I can remote into their computer when the crap hits the fan, which I know I will. It amazes me how tiring that was. We got there on Friday and were working on something ro another computer related until we left today at 8pm. It is hard to believe I come from this stock of people…these people who are just now getting cable Internet and who will not use it at all, but want to have it in the house. I would be LOST without m technology. I sat my brother down and made him get a gmail account because he only has a work email. He is 53 and really should know better. I guess I hope that giving everyone email addresses and access to the internet will enable use to keep in touch better. I am not holding my breath on this one…….My head is spinning! I must be adopted.

Yeah, and Christy, if my parents have a cable modem now, you really need to step up. :)
